Max Power Live is one of the biggest indoor/outdoor Modified and Performance Car Shows of the Year, It's also one of the most expensive at £23.00 a ticket plus £6.00 for parking. But on entering the Exhibition Hall in the NEC everyone soon forgets how much they have just paid. Well at least all the lads do as they begin to see the place is full of 'eye candy' and 'top totti' because this being the Max Power Live Show it is crammed full of Max Power Babes and other 'talented' young ladies throughout. (just like in Max Power Magazine). For any females who visit the show, there were plenty of modified Vauxhall Corsa's to look at! (proving that Max Power is not sexist in any way).
It's amazing how many people have cameras and for those who didn't disposable ones were being sold every few yards! (what clever marketing!). Some lads seemed to be seeing who could be photographed with the most girls, others were taking photo's on their mobile phones for use as screen savers and photo messaging.
Max Power Live is run over a long weekend (Fri/Sat/Sun), and several stage shows take place during this time including the competition to find the 'Max Power Babe 2003' and 'Max Power Car 2003' winners as well as many other games and prize giving. There was also the Max Power autograph signing area which you could visit (if you had paid the extra £5 for the access all areas pass), and an outdoor arena/cruise strip with hourly shows. More cars could also be found outside in 'cruise corner', many of these cars belonging to local cruise club members. With good weather it made a great weekend.
Apparently 'N1TRO' was 'spotted' on the return journey to Manchester on the M6 Northbound in Cheshire. Reports were coming in that evening that we had been seen 'Flying?' up the motorway past a coach full of day trippers returning from France. One passenger had pointed out the car and its registration to their fellow passengers, another then claimed that they personally knew who was driving it! much to the amusement of everyone else. By this time we had already passed and with tinted windows, anybody could make a claim like that. This person had probably told so many stories along the way, that nobody was going to belive them anyway and they were just laughed at for making the claim. Well this passenger was telling the truth, he did know. Hello 'WOZ!'.
P.S. 'WOZ' was 'gutted' when he discovered he had missed the 'Max Power' Show.
