| Put together in just three months by a team headed by legendary engineering boss Marco Forghieri, the 512S sports racing car was powered by an all-alloy V12 engine of almost five litres, with four valves per cylinder. |
| The tubular spaceframe chassis was developed from the 330 P4 and the 612 Can-Am, while the bodywork was designed by Giacomo Caliri and made from polycarbonate to reduce weight. Built both as a closed berlinetta and an open spider, the 512S contested the Manufacturers' World Championship in 1970 and 1971. It claimed outright victory for the marque at Sebring (USA) and Kyalami (South Africa). |
