The twin headlight grill of the VW Golf GTI is instantly recognisable. The VW Golf Drivers also came with a twin headlight grill, but these had 1 very important missing feature! ... the RED STRIPE!!!
For very little cash or effort you can soon add the look of a twin headlight grill Golf GTI to a Golf Driver!
After keying the surface of the area to be painted with some smooth sandpaper, we just brushed on gloss red Humbrol enamel paint, applying a second coat once the first was dry. This was done using a small artist or child's paint brush, without any masking and with no need for any special primers or plastic paint, so it was very easy to do & only cost a couple of quid!

The twin-headlight front grill of the Golf Driver to begin with.
Another pic of the original grill on the car, this time though, the 'VW' badge has been removed for painting black. Whereas, the 'driver' badge has been removed permanently!
Having taken the front grill off the car made it much easier to paint the red stripe.
The painted badge has now been refitted into the front grill.
This Golf now looks much more like a GTi than before, taking very little effort to achieve this sportier look!
