Rover 800 Lazy Locking Electric Windows.

Rover 800 Lazy Locking Electric Windows.

Car: 1999 Rover 800 820 Auto Fastback

Colour: Charcoal Grey / Black

This video shows how to activate the lazy locking windows (and sunroof if fitted!) on your Rover 800.

(This will only work properly if your windows are working properly, if your windows beep when using the window switch controls inside the car then please click here to be shown how to rectify this first.)

Simply press and hold the 'lock' button on the remote control key fob and the car will take care of the rest.

If you let go of the button early, i.e. if you stop pressing the 'lock' button before all the windows have finished closing, then they will stop wherever they are up to and the car horn will give a short beep, to indicate that completion did not take place.

Press and hold the button again though and the sequence will continue from where you left off.

If you close all the windows and the horn still beeps at the end of the sequence, then there is another problem like the bonnet or the boot is not closed properly, and the horn just indicates a fault has taken place and that total closure of the alarm system has not been completed.

You can also use the cars 'deadlocking' feature combined with the lazy locking. To Deadlock the vehicle you press the lock button twice in quick succession. To deadlock and lazylock the car, press the lock button twice in quick succession, holding down the lock button on the second press.

(deadlocking stops the cars doors from being opened at all, and in case of the need to escape in an emergency, the deadlocks should never be used when you leave the vehicle parked with anybody inside it).
